Competition Brief (see competition rules below)
Entries must be images of wildlife in their natural habitat.
We are looking for an image that portrays wildlife/birds/insects/nature in their natural landscape.
For example could be spider on a web (macro), birds on a lake, deer on the moors, Starling murmuration, Bittern in the reeds etc.
I have uploaded some sample images below to give you an idea of what we are looking for. Don’t forget I am not judging the competition and will not see them until they have been. However, if I was judging them I would not be looking for technically perfect images, but images that show some thought has gone into the camera settings. I would be happy to see some subtle post editing, but not heavy ‘photo-shopping’ and definitely no cutting and pasting.
Put simply I would want to see an image that meets the competition brief and has a ‘wow’ factor, perhaps some humour. Hope this helps, have fun and good luck.

The Prizes
1st Prize
The winner will receive a ‘jade’ cut glass engraved trophy that is yours to keep.You will also receive a 24x18” premium quality photo canvas print of your winning entry. Our premium quality cotton canvas prints are printed on heavy weight 405gsm canvas using light fast pigment inks with a solid wood stretcher and are satin laminated for protection. And come complete with a picture hook wall hanger.
2nd Prize
Winner will receive an Exmoor Photography £50.00 gift voucher.The gift vouchers can be used to make purchases online at Exmoor Photography Gallery & Photo Gifts. We will also accept it as payment towards a photography course.
3rd Prize
Winner will receive an Exmoor Photography £25.00 gift voucher.The gift vouchers can be used to make purchases online at Exmoor Photography Gallery & Photo Gifts. We will also accept it as payment towards a photography course.

- Competition is only open to customers who have attended the Exmoor Photography Course.
- Entries must be images of wildlife in their natural habitat.

- Only one image/print per person.
- Any entry image must be printed as follows, we will not accept any entry in other formats, electronic,email or otherwise.
- A simple 10x8” print (of your digital image), colour or black & white will be great, please do not send it mounted or framed, we are only interested in your printed image.
- In the interest of ‘fair play’ please do not ask Jack (or any Exmoor Photography staff) or the Judges for their opinion on any image you are considering entering. Any attempt to do this or curry favour will result in instant dismissal from the competition.
- Any submitted images should not have been previously published. In addition, must be entirely your own image.
- Exmoor Photography will not be offering their usual printing service for competition entries.
- The judging will take place during May 2018 (date to be confirmed).
- The judge’s decision is final.
- No Exmoor Photography staff including Jack will be present during the judging process.
- Competition winners will be notified the same day and arrangements made for the 1st place winner to supply us a digital copy of his/her image for printing onto canvas (image prep sizing etc. will be completed by Jack FOC).
- The two runners up will have their gift vouchers posted to them. We will also contact you to arrange for a digital copy of your image, so that we can publish them online on the Exmoor Photography course website and blog pages.
- Prizes are not negotiable and no other product, service etc. will be supplied in place of the prizes stated here in described.
- Please note that by entering the competition you agree to your image being used in our publicity.
